What to say on the Phone

When talking to a receptionist on the phone, to set up an appointment or ask for information, there is a specific way the conversation should go. Almost like a script.

At the end of the conversation the receptionist is supposed to say, “Have a nice day.” I have my own response locked and loaded. There is no way I could possibly say anything different.

So when the person on the other end of the phone simply says “Bye,” I end up saying, “You too,” in return.

And then I feel stupid.
